Important Information on Microsoft Operating Systems
Relevance to Oracle | Hyperion Products
The support lifecycle of the underlying operating systems on the servers that Oracle EPM products are installed do not necessarily align with the support lifecycle of the products. In turn, this may prompt organizations to migrate earlier than otherwise anticipated if only planning around the support lifecycle of the product and not other core components like the Operating System or the Database.
Key Facts to consider:
- The highest level operating system that Oracle EPM version 11.2.4 supports is Windows 2012 R2. Accordingly, Extended Support for Windows 2012 effectively ends October 10, 2023.
- Mainstream support lasts for 5 years and includes incident support, warranty claims, security updates and allows for request of non-security related hotfixes. When Microsoft ends mainstream support, it transitions to extended support for 5 more years. In this phase, Microsoft still provides security updates at no cost, but will no longer add features, provide free incident support, accept warranty claims or provide hotfix support. When extended support ends, Microsoft will no longer provide support or security/reliability patches.
